Subaru Unveils All-Electric 2026 Uncharted

Subaru of America has officially debuted the all-new 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV, an all-electric compact crossover. This latest addition to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup offers a sporty design, dynamic performance, and significant range, positioning it as a strong contender in the growing EV market. The Uncharted is scheduled to arrive at retailers nationwide in early 2026.

Key Highlights

  • Features dual electric motors with up to 338 horsepower.
  • Achieves 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds on Sport and GT models.
  • Offers a manufacturer-estimated range of more than 300 miles on the Premium FWD trim.
  • Supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
  • Equipped with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard on most trims.

Performance for Any Journey

The 2026 Subaru Uncharted is engineered for both efficiency and dynamic performance. With up to 338 horsepower available from its dual-motor setup, the Uncharted surpasses competitors like the Hyundai Kona EV and Kia Niro EV. While shorter than the Solterra EV by nearly seven inches, it provides over 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and boasts a highly maneuverable turning radius similar to the Subaru Crosstrek.

Powered by a 74.7-kWh high-capacity lithium-ion battery, the Uncharted offers impressive capabilities. The Sport and GT models come standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE®, an anticipated range of up to 290 miles, and 338 horsepower. For customers prioritizing range and affordability, a limited-edition Premium FWD model will be available, providing an estimated range of over 300 miles and 221 horsepower.

The vehicle’s chassis was extensively developed for superior straight-line stability and handling on various surfaces, including gravel and snow. This is achieved through the use of lightweight high-strength steel, structural support from the underfloor battery, and a specially tuned suspension.

Seamless, Smart Technology

Inside, the Uncharted features a standard 14-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. For added convenience, dual wireless smartphone chargers and dual rear USB-C ports are standard across all trims.

A standard NACS charge port allows for charging speeds up to 150 kW, providing access to over 15,000 Tesla Supercharger stations. An onboard battery preconditioning system enables the Uncharted to recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes, even in cold weather. For home charging, an 11-kW onboard charger supports both Level One and Level Two charging.

Safety is paramount, with a comprehensive suite of EyeSight® driver-assist technologies included. Available features include Pre-Collision Braking, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Monitors. Higher trim levels offer a panoramic view monitor and Traffic Jam Assist. Standard features on all models include an All-Weather Package, a power rear gate, and the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System.

Expressive Style

The 2026 Subaru Uncharted showcases clean, sporty lines that emphasize its performance capabilities while efficiently packaging space for five passengers. The front end features Subaru’s signature lighting and an illuminated six-star logo. The vehicle is available with new 18- or 20-inch wheel designs, and the GT model offers an optional high-contrast two-tone roof.

The interior presents an airy cabin with soft-touch materials, exclusive orange accents, and available StarTex® water-repellent upholstery on Sport and GT trims. Rear passengers benefit from ample legroom comparable to the Crosstrek, and heated outboard rear seats are standard on the Uncharted GT.
