Four Trim Levels, Four Price Points
The DOLPHIN G DM-i is offered in four trims — Active, Boost, Comfort and Sport — each stepping up in battery capacity, equipment, or both.
| Trim | UK Price | Battery | Electric-only range | Combined range | Weighted fuel consumption |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Active | £23,990 ($32,199) | 7.4 kWh | 24.8 miles | 633 miles | 108.6 mpg (~90 mpg U.S.) |
| Boost | £26,990 ($36,226) | 18.3 kWh | 65 miles | 646 miles | 201.7 mpg (~168 mpg U.S.) |
| Comfort | £28,490 ($38,239) | 18.3 kWh | 65 miles | 646 miles | 201.7 mpg (~168 mpg U.S.) |
| Sport | £29,940 ($40,185) | 18.3 kWh | 65 miles | 646 miles | 201.7 mpg (~168 mpg U.S.) |
All range and fuel-consumption figures are manufacturer-reported WLTP results; the WLTP cycle is not directly comparable to U.S. EPA ratings and typically returns higher numbers.
Powertrain Steps Up From Boost Onward
The Active trim carries a 7.4 kWh Blade Battery paired with 3.3 kW onboard charging. Stepping up to Boost introduces the larger 18.3 kWh pack, which lifts electric-only range from 24.8 miles to 65 miles and raises combined range from 633 to 646 miles. AC charging increases to 6.6 kW on Boost and above, and DC charging becomes available at up to 39 kW. Total system power also increases, rising from 176 PS on Active to 212 PS on Boost, Comfort and Sport.
The Super Hybrid with DM system underpinning the DOLPHIN G DM-i debuted in Europe in June as the fifth-generation DM 5.0 platform. BYD had not yet confirmed UK pricing when it published full specifications for the model earlier this summer.
Standard Safety and Comfort Equipment
Every trim includes LED headlights, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic air conditioning, an 8.8-inch TFT instrument cluster, satellite navigation, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. BYD also includes adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot detection, and front and rear parking sensors across the line-up.
Boost adds electrically folding mirrors, privacy glass, a vegan leather-trimmed steering wheel, heated front seats, additional rear air vents, two 18W USB-C ports for rear passengers, a larger 12.8-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, and wireless smartphone charging. Comfort, priced from £28,490 ($38,239), adds 18-inch alloy wheels, exterior mirror footlights, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, Google built-in infotainment with Google Maps and Google Assistant, and a 360-degree camera. Sport rounds out the range with black 18-inch alloy wheels and artificial-suede seats trimmed in black with orange or blue accents, matched to the trim’s two exterior color choices: Sunset Orange and Ocean Blue.
Color and Interior Options
Sunset Orange pearlescent paint is standard across the range. Four additional colors — Skiing White, Time Grey, Obsidian Black and Ocean Blue — are available for a £750 ($1,007) option. Active, Boost and Comfort trims come with a black interior as standard, with a grey color scheme available at no extra cost.
