Suzuki Motor Corporation has officially unveiled its first mass-production battery electric vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA, in Milan, Italy. Production is set to begin at Suzuki Motor Gujarat in India by spring 2025, with the vehicle’s release expected in multiple markets, including Europe, India, and Japan, by summer 2025. The e VITARA aims to be Suzuki’s flagship BEV, combining advanced technology with off-road capability.

The platform is built on HEARTECT-e, specifically engineered for BEVs, providing a lightweight structure with high-voltage protection and an optimized battery placement.

- High-Tech & Adventure DesignThe e VITARA’s exterior presents a modern BEV aesthetic coupled with the rugged look of an SUV. With large-diameter tires and a long wheelbase, it embodies an adventurous spirit. Inside, advanced integrated displays and robust panels reflect the High-Tech & Adventure theme.
- Efficient BEV PowertrainThe powertrain features a highly efficient eAxle, integrating the motor and inverter with lithium iron-phosphate batteries for optimal safety and reliability. This system ensures nimble acceleration from standstill and strong performance at both low and high speeds.
- ALLGRIP-e Electric 4WD SystemSuzuki’s ALLGRIP-e is an electric 4WD system with two independent eAxles for front and rear control. It features a Trail mode for off-road capabilities, using brake applications to improve traction. This ensures excellent responsiveness and precise control even in challenging terrain.
- HEARTECT-e PlatformThe platform uses the HEARTECT-e architecture specifically designed for BEVs. Its lightweight structure, high-voltage safety features, and optimized space provide an enhanced driving experience, maximizing both interior room and battery efficiency.
