U Power Limited featured its innovative UOTTA battery swap station at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show. This event marks the first public demonstration of such technology in the region, setting the stage for Southeast Asia’s initial operational battery swap infrastructure. Partnering with SUSCO, a leading energy solutions provider in Thailand, U Power is driving sustainable transportation forward in a region eager for electric vehicle (EV) advancements.

Key Highlights:

  • U Power unveiled its UOTTA battery swap station at the 2025 Bangkok Motor Show.
  • The station will soon operate in Phuket, serving electric taxis and hailing vehicles.
  • A partnership with SUSCO aims to expand the battery swap network across Thailand.
  • The initiative supports Thailand’s EV 3.5 policy, promoting EV adoption through 2027.

The demonstration drew significant attention from industry leaders, media, and partners, underscoring the demand for efficient EV solutions. Following the event, the station will relocate to Phuket for full commercial use, initially supporting electric taxis and hailing vehicles. This move addresses the challenge of lengthy charging times, offering a quick and practical alternative for EV drivers.

Johnny Lee, U Power’s CEO, highlighted the broader impact, stating, “This public demonstration is more than a technical milestone — it’s a blueprint for scalable electrification across ASEAN’s tourism economies.” The company’s strategy fosters collaboration, allowing local partners like SUSCO to adopt the UOTTA platform, which reduces costs and accelerates sustainable growth.

The project aligns with Thailand’s EV 3.5 policy, which provides subsidies for battery-swappable vehicles until 2027. This support enhances EV adoption, particularly in tourism and logistics hubs. The partnership with SUSCO leverages its vast network to roll out more stations, positioning Thailand as a leader in Southeast Asia’s green transportation movement.

U Power Limited started as a vehicle sourcing provider in 2013 and has since evolved into an EV innovator with its UOTTA technology—an intelligent, modular battery-swapping system. Based in China with a manufacturing facility in Zibo City, Shandong Province, the company is now expanding globally.
