Unplugged Performance Debuts Track-Focused Model 3 Rear Wing

Unplugged Performance's ASCENSION-RR Rear Wing for the 2024+ Tesla Model 3 generates 525 lbs of downforce at 150 mph, with adjustable settings for street and track applications.

Unplugged Performance has released the ASCENSION-RR Rear Carbon Fiber Wing for the 2024+ Tesla Model 3. The aerodynamic component was developed using computational fluid dynamics analysis and real-world track validation to deliver rear downforce while maintaining rear visibility and road usability.

Highlights

  • Generates 525 lbs of rear downforce at 150 mph, counteracting the Model 3’s inherent rear lift at high speeds
  • Full aero package achieves 710 lbs total downforce with 46/54 front-to-rear aerodynamic balance
  • Adjustable wing angle allows drivers to optimize between efficiency (0 degrees) and maximum downforce (4 degrees)
  • Priced at $2,495 with initial production units shipping now

Aerodynamic Performance Specifications

The ASCENSION-RR addresses rear lift generated by the Model 3 roofline during high-speed driving. At 150 mph, the wing produces 2,332 N (525 lbs / 238 kg) of rear downforce, increasing tire loading at the rear axle.

When combined with Unplugged Performance’s complete Model 3 Performance carbon fiber aero package, total aerodynamic load reaches 3,155 N (710 lbs / 322 kg). The system achieves a 46/54 front-to-rear aerodynamic balance, suitable for the Model 3 Performance’s chassis dynamics.

With the full aerodynamic package installed, the Model 3 achieves a coefficient of lift of 0.48. This represents a substantial change from the stock vehicle, which produces slight lift at speed.

Adjustability and Configuration

The wing offers two primary angle settings:

  • 0-degree setting – Optimized for reduced drag during street driving or high-speed applications
  • 4-degree setting – Maximum downforce configuration for track use

An optional gurney flap is available separately. The accessory attaches using high-strength adhesive and improves airflow attachment and pressure recovery at the trailing edge, increasing overall wing effectiveness.

Compatibility and Availability

The ASCENSION-RR Rear Wing is compatible with all 2024+ Tesla Model 3 variants:

  • Model 3 Performance
  • Model 3 Long Range
  • Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive

The complete kit includes the carbon fiber rear wing element, carbon fiber stands, and mounting hardware. Initial production units are shipping, with preorders open for subsequent allocations.

Unplugged Performance has confirmed that a Model S–specific version is currently in development.
