Volkswagen unveiled a new, customer-focused interior architecture debuting in the all-new ID. Polo concept. This redesigned cockpit integrates intuitive physical buttons with advanced software to define the user experience for all future ID. models. The system emphasizes high-quality materials and enhanced driver assistance features as part of the company’s “BOOST 2030” strategy.

- Physical button integration returns to the multi-function steering wheel and climate controls to improve intuitive operation.
- Dual-screen architecture features a 10.25-inch digital cockpit paired with a segment-leading 13-inch infotainment touchscreen.
- Next-generation software introduces one-pedal driving and Travel Assist 3.0, which recognizes red lights and stop signs.
- Retro “Secret Sauce” display allows drivers to toggle digital instruments into a classic 1980s Golf I aesthetic at the touch of a button.

Advanced Software and ADAS Evolution
The ID. Polo serves as the pioneer for a new software generation designed to elevate comfort and functionality. Beyond standard navigation, the third generation of Travel Assist soon enables the vehicle to automatically respond to traffic signals and stop signs. Additionally, Volkswagen has implemented comfortable one-pedal driving to streamline the electric driving experience.
Human-Machine Interface and Ergonomics
Volkswagen’s “Pure Positive” design language prioritizes a clear horizontal orientation with high-resolution graphics. A dedicated rotary controller positioned between the smartphone tray and cup holders allows both the driver and passenger to adjust audio settings easily. The interactive ID.Light strip now extends across the instrument panel and into the front doors for the first time, enhancing intuitive communication with the driver.

Premium Materials in the Compact Segment
The interior utilizes fabric-covered surfaces on the dashboard and door inserts to provide a cross-class quality feel. Volkswagen designers focused on the tactile experience of all handles, buttons, and controls to create an inviting atmosphere. This approach aligns with the brand’s goal of becoming the most desirable provider of sustainable mobility by 2030.
