Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its all-electric ID. Buzz Cargo range with the introduction of a new entry-level model featuring a 59kWh battery. Priced from £35,960, this variant offers a WLTP range of up to 200 miles and retains the same cargo capacity as other models in the lineup. Orders are now open, with deliveries expected to start in late spring 2025.

The new ID. Buzz Cargo 59kWh aims to make electric vans more accessible for operators. Its compact battery still provides a substantial range suitable for various commercial uses. With rapid charging at 165kW, the vehicle can go from 5% to 80% battery in just 30 minutes, minimizing downtime for businesses.
Practicality remains a strong suit. The van maintains a 3.9m³ cargo volume, capable of holding two Euro pallets widthways. It offers a 692kg payload and can tow up to 1,000kg, ensuring versatility for different tasks. The Commerce trim enhances driver comfort with features like LED headlights, three front seats including a heated driver’s seat, and front and rear parking sensors. It also includes a Ready 2 Discover infotainment system with a 12.9-inch color touchscreen, wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multiple USB-C ports.
Volkswagen sweetens the deal with financing incentives. Until March 31, 2025, customers can access a 4.9% APR Representative and a £2,500 finance deposit contribution through Volkswagen Financial Services. A partnership with OVO offers the ‘Charge Anytime’ add-on, enabling home charging at 7p per kWh anytime. New OVO customers also receive up to 30,000 free miles, split as 10,000 miles initially and 10,000 more on each of the first two contract anniversaries.
