The ID. ERA, a collaboration with SAIC VOLKSWAGEN, is a full-size SUV offering three rows of seating. It pioneers Volkswagen’s use of range extender technology, where a fuel-powered generator extends the battery’s range by over 700 kilometers. Paired with a 300-kilometer electric range, it achieves a total travel distance exceeding 1,000 kilometers.
Targeting young, trend-savvy buyers, the ID. EVO from Volkswagen Anhui is an all-electric full-size SUV built on an 800-volt platform. Its high-performance zonal electronic architecture supports a suite of digital services and over-the-air updates, enhancing user engagement and vehicle functionality.
The ID. AURA, developed with FAW-Volkswagen, serves the price-sensitive A-segment. This electric notchback, based on the Compact Main Platform (CMP), integrates an AI-driven system for automated driving and a smartphone-like interface. An AI humanoid assistant streamlines control of vehicle features and infotainment.
Volkswagen’s leadership underscored this milestone. CEO Thomas Schäfer stated, “We have made all the necessary preparations to remain in pole position among foreign automakers in China.” The company aims to launch over 20 advanced NEVs in the next three years, with development accelerated to a 34-month cycle at its Hefei center. These concepts, on display until early May, signal Volkswagen’s vision for China’s future mobility.
