Volta Inc. Joins Ad Net Zero as Founding Partner for USA Chapter

NEW YORK – Volta Inc., an electric vehicle (EV) charging and media company, has announced it will join Ad Net Zero as a founding partner for its new USA chapter. Ad Net Zero is an international organization focused on decarbonizing the advertising industry and using marketing to encourage consumers to switch to more sustainable products and services.

The organization counts more than 100 advertisers, agencies, commercial media owners, and production companies as supporters, including IPG, Google, Havas, Omnicom, Meta, WPP, Sky, Pubmatic, Unilever, and Reckitt. These supporters have pledged to uphold Ad Net Zero’s five-point action plan, which includes reducing emissions from business operations, advertising production, media planning, and awards and events.

As the only digital out-of-home (DOOH) media network to become a member, Volta’s support underscores its role in decarbonizing media. Volta offers advertisers the opportunity to reach valuable audiences while supporting emissions-free, electric miles. The Volta Media™ Network is the world’s largest DOOH network integrated into EV charging stations, and every campaign featured on its more than 5,700 large-format digital screens supports charging sessions that provide electric miles to drivers.

Volta recently made its campaign emissions calculator publicly available to enable agencies and brands to plan effectively. The calculator allows advertisers to estimate the CO2 emissions a campaign on Volta’s media network would help avoid. Additionally, Volta purchases Renewable Energy Certificates equivalent to the electricity used to power its network, giving sponsors confidence in supporting a clean transportation and energy future.

Volta leverages the power of its media network to encourage sustainable consumer behaviors through its “Charging For All” initiative. The company recently launched an evergreen educational platform displayed across its media network, social channels, and website to address consumers’ perceived concerns around EVs and encourage drivers to consider an EV for their next vehicle.

“In 2022, the US media industry woke up to its emissions responsibilities. This year, the industry must start decarbonizing its operations and getting closer to net zero emissions,” said John Osborn, Director of Ad Net Zero’s USA Chapter. “We are honored that Volta has joined Ad Net Zero’s USA chapter as a founding member.”
