Volvo EX60 Cross Country Debuts as Electric Adventure SUV

Volvo unveils the EX60 Cross Country with 20mm additional ground clearance, adjustable air suspension, and up to 640 km range from its P10 AWD Electric powertrain.

Volvo Cars has unveiled the EX60 Cross Country alongside the standard EX60, extending its rugged Cross Country lineup into the all-electric era. The variant combines the EX60’s electric powertrain capabilities with enhanced ground clearance and distinctive design elements aimed at customers seeking versatility beyond paved roads.

Highlights

  • Increased ride height: The EX60 Cross Country sits 20mm higher than the standard EX60, with air suspension offering an additional 20mm lift when needed
  • Two AWD powertrains available: P10 AWD Electric delivers up to 640 km WLTP range, with a longer-range P12 AWD Electric variant to follow
  • Cross Country heritage continues: First introduced in 1997, the Cross Country treatment brings distinctive styling and enhanced capability to Volvo’s electric lineup
  • European pre-orders now open: Additional markets will follow later in 2025

Cross Country Design Elements

The EX60 Cross Country features an exclusive exterior color called Frost Green, inspired by Scandinavian landscapes. Volvo has equipped the vehicle with Cross Country-specific wheels, branded front and rear bumpers, and D-pillar badging.

Brushed stainless steel skid plates at the front and rear complement wider wheel arch cladding. These elements distinguish the variant from the standard EX60 while signaling enhanced off-road capability.

Adjustable Air Suspension System

The standard 20mm ride height increase over the base EX60 improves visibility and obstacle clearance. Drivers can raise the suspension an additional 20mm through the air suspension system for challenging terrain.

For highway driving, the system lowers the vehicle to improve aerodynamic efficiency and stability. This adjustment helps maximize battery range during high-speed travel.

Powertrain Options and Availability

Volvo will offer two all-wheel-drive configurations. The P10 AWD Electric arrives first with a preliminary WLTP range of up to 640 km. The P12 AWD Electric follows with extended range capability.

Pre-orders have opened in select European markets. Volvo notes that range figures are preliminary and actual performance varies based on conditions including temperature, driving style, and terrain.
