As a plug-in hybrid, the S90 enables zero-emission commutes for up to 80 kilometers, with a petrol engine for extended trips. A mild hybrid variant, powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, provides a balance of power and efficiency. Volvo’s data shows that 48% of driving in its plug-in hybrids is electric-only, minimizing environmental impact.
Safety is a cornerstone, with an advanced safety cage and Pilot Assist, which aids drivers on highways and in stop-and-go traffic by managing speed, braking, and lane centering. The S90’s adaptive suspension and superior sound insulation ensure a comfortable ride, ideal for long drives.
The Volvo S90 will be available to order in China this summer, with other markets to follow. Paired with the fully electric ES90, it bolsters Volvo’s lineup, appealing to those who prioritize luxury, safety, and sustainability.
