Powertrain and Range

The OMODA 7 SHS-P uses the brand’s proprietary Super Hybrid System, combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an 18.3 kWh battery pack. OMODA reports a WLTP-rated combined range above 700 miles, with up to 56 miles of pure-electric driving and CO₂ emissions as low as 23 g/km. WLTP figures generally exceed equivalent EPA ratings and are not directly comparable to North American cycles.

DC fast charging from 30% to 80% takes 20 minutes, and a Vehicle-to-Load port supports running external devices from the traction battery. A 1.6-litre TGDI petrol option will follow later in Q2 at £29,915 OTR.

The 56-mile electric range positions the OMODA 7 SHS-P well ahead of the Kia Sportage PHEV, the segment incumbent, which carries a WLTP electric-only figure of 43 miles. That 13-mile gap — roughly a 30% advantage on paper — is one of the larger electric-range deltas among mid-size plug-in SUVs at this price point and is likely to be a focal point of fleet and BIK comparisons.

Trim and Equipment

OMODA offers the 7 in Knight and Noble grades. Standard equipment across the range includes eco-leather upholstery, dual digital displays, a SONY audio system, and wireless smartphone connectivity.

The Noble trim adds six-way electric adjustment for the driver and front passenger, a 1.45-metre panoramic sunroof, four-zone voice control, and an air-conditioning fragrance system — the last two features described by OMODA as firsts for any UK-delivered model from the brand.

Positioning and Network

The OMODA 7 sits between the compact OMODA 5 and the flagship OMODA 9 SHS-P in the UK lineup. Victor Zhang, UK Managing Director, OMODA UK, said: “The OMODA 7 was designed to be a popular model for us in the UK. Seeing the first cars now with customers is a genuine milestone, because this is where the brand really starts to be experienced day to day on British roads. It’s a car that quietly demonstrates what OMODA stands for in terms of design, comfort and technology, and we’re very pleased to see it begin its journey with owners.”

The launch follows the January 2026 arrival of the OMODA 5 SHS-H full hybrid and continued expansion of the dealer network. The brand has also confirmed the OMODA 4 for UK launch later in 2026, extending the lineup into the B-segment SUV space.

All OMODA 7 models carry a 7-year/100,000-mile vehicle warranty, an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty for SHS variants, and RAC Home Start cover for the lifetime of the warranty, subject to servicing within the OMODA&JAECOO network.
