The Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric averaged 15.7 kWh per 100 km across more than 14,000 km of mixed real-world driving at the model’s international media launch in Croatia, matching its official WLTP figure of 15.6–15.8 kWh per 100 km. Opel disclosed the results in a press statement issued from its Rüsselsheim headquarters, framing the run as a real-world validation of the updated compact electric estate. The 156 hp variant now offers up to 445 km of WLTP range, roughly 35 km farther than the outgoing model.
Highlights
- Fleet averaged 15.7 kWh/100 km across 14,000+ km of mixed driving in Croatia, matching official WLTP consumption of 15.6–15.8 kWh/100 km
- Updated 58 kWh battery (55 kWh usable) extends WLTP range to 445 km, up about 35 km from the prior 54 kWh / 416 km configuration
- Single front-axle motor produces 115 kW (156 hp) and 270 Nm; 0–100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, top speed limited to 170 km/h
- Adds Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability and cabin-controlled battery preconditioning for the first time

Real-World Test Conditions
Journalists from 22 countries logged about 200 test drives across Dalmatia in the updated Astra Sports Tourer Electric fleet. Routes spanned town and country roads, coastal stretches, and mountain passes under variable temperatures and weather. The 15.7 kWh per 100 km fleet average matched Opel’s WLTP figure exactly, a result the automaker presented as evidence of consistency between lab-cycle figures and everyday consumption. WLTP figures are derived from a standardized European test cycle and typically differ from EPA estimates and from individual real-world results, which depend on driving style, route, and ambient conditions.
The fleet figure is sourced from Opel’s own launch event and has not been independently verified by third-party testing. Real-world consumption claims at OEM-organized media drives reflect controlled conditions and a self-selected route mix rather than a standardized protocol.
Battery, Range, and Powertrain Updates
The refreshed Astra Sports Tourer Electric uses a 58 kWh lithium-ion battery (55 kWh usable), up from the 54 kWh pack in the previous configuration. Combined with aerodynamic refinements, the larger pack lifts WLTP range to 445 km — about 35 km more than the outgoing version’s roughly 416 km. The 115 kW (156 hp) front-axle motor produces 270 Nm of torque from standstill, returning a 9.5-second 0–100 km/h time and an electronically limited 170 km/h top speed.
New for this update: V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) external power output, allowing owners to charge e-bikes or similar devices from the vehicle, and cabin-controlled battery preconditioning to optimize fast-charge performance. The Astra Sports Tourer Electric is part of Stellantis’s broader Opel/Vauxhall electrification push, which includes 15 electrified models across the brand portfolio.
The pricing context is unchanged at the press portal — Opel previously listed the German starting price at €43,490 for the Sports Tourer Electric. The press release does not state whether the updated configuration carries a revised MSRP.

‘Electric All In’ Bundle for German Buyers
Opel paired the launch with an “Electric All In” purchase package for German private buyers of new Opel BEVs through June 30, 2026. The bundle includes an eProWallbox Move home charger, e-routes navigation, eight years of mobile charging and roadside assistance (mobile charging up to three times annually), and a battery warranty. The offer is limited to participating dealers in Germany.
The package follows a similar Stellantis-wide pattern: the group recently extended BEV-at-diesel-parity pricing across its commercial van range through June 2026, suggesting an ongoing strategy of bundling incentives around its battery-electric portfolio in Europe.
