Leading smart electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer XPENG has officially unveiled the new versions of its Ultra Smart Coupe SUV, the XPENG G6, and its Ultra Smart Premium SUV, the XPENG G9, for the European market. Both models feature significant upgrades to performance, technology, and design, aimed at redefining the next generation of electric vehicles.

Advanced Powertrain and Charging
At the core of the new G6 and G9 is a groundbreaking upgrade to 5C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries across all model trims. This next-generation technology offers a safer and more sustainable solution by eliminating the need for minerals like cobalt and nickel, without compromising performance. XPENG’s extensive experience with LFP batteries ensures proven safety and reliable charge-discharge performance.
This advanced battery is paired with XPENG’s industry-leading full-domain 800V high-voltage SiC platform, enabling class-leading charging speeds. The new G9 can support charging up to 525 kW, while the G6 supports up to 451 kW. In real-world testing conducted in the Netherlands, the new G6 successfully charged from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes using a 400 kW station. Both models also deliver impressive performance with a top speed of over 200 km/h.
Revolutionary Design and Comfort
The new XPENG models feature striking design updates. The XPENG G6 introduces a new Stellar Purple color, a low-saturation metallic shade that shifts tones under changing light. Its exterior is further defined by a new 1942 mm full-width Starlight Wing LED light bar and a redesigned rear diffuser. The XPENG G9 Black Edition offers a captivating presence with deep midnight black paint, blackened logos, and contrasting fiery orange brake calipers for a sharp, mysterious look.
Inside, the cabins have been reimagined for premium comfort and immersive technology. The G6 boasts a new Super Star-Ring Interior Design, which transforms 60% of the cabin with a sleek dashboard, ambient lighting, and new color themes. Its front seats now feature a massage function with lumbar support. The G9 receives a luxury upgrade with an ultra-large three-layer panoramic sunroof and luxurious comfort seats with a 10-point massage function.
Smart Technology and European Availability
XPENG continues to lead in intelligent vehicle technology. Both the G6 and G9 feature a fully upgraded intelligent driving suite and an enhanced cockpit powered by a high-performance chip. In a significant update, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, ensuring a smarter and more seamless journey. Autonomous driving features will be introduced in Europe in compliance with local regulations and enhanced through ongoing over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The new models are tailored for European customers, with specifications that include an optional towbar and multilingual voice control systems. European customers can now register their interest for both models via XPENG’s official websites in the Netherlands, Belux, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and France. Orders will open in mid-July, when detailed pricing will be released, and test drives will begin in August and September.
