Zenvo Automotive is poised to redefine hypercar performance with the debut of its groundbreaking V12 engine, Mjølner. Named after Thor’s hammer in Norse mythology, this engine stands as the most powerful V12 ever fitted to a production road car, blending raw power with innovative engineering to deliver an unmatched driving experience.
Key Highlights:
- Zenvo Automotive introduces Mjølner, the most powerful V12 engine for a production road car.
- Produces up to 1850 bhp with an electric hybrid system.
- Engineered for road use, compliant with global emissions standards.
- Features Zenvo’s new modular engine architecture.
- Developed in partnership with MAHLE Powertrain, incorporating the MAHLE Jet Ignition system.
- Set to power the upcoming Zenvo Aurora model.

The Mjølner engine boasts a 6.6-liter displacement and four turbochargers, generating 1250 bhp on its own. When paired with an electric hybrid system, its output surges to an astonishing 1850 bhp, securing its title as the most powerful V12 in a road-legal production vehicle. Beyond sheer power, Zenvo prioritizes driver engagement, crafting an engine that stirs the senses. As Jens Sverdrup, Chairman of Zenvo Automotive, noted, “Sound and visceral drama is what Aurora will be all about, and the engine is a vital element in this, which we will turn up to 11.”
Developed with MAHLE Powertrain, a leader in advanced powertrain solutions, Mjølner integrates the MAHLE Jet Ignition system. This technology enables ‘Lambda1’ operation, ensuring compliance with current and future emissions regulations without sacrificing performance. The engine’s 9,800rpm redline underscores its road-focused design, distinguishing it from motorsport-derived alternatives.

Mjølner marks the debut of Zenvo’s modular engine architecture, a flexible platform that will evolve across future models. It will first power the Aurora, a hypercar launching in 2026 in two variants: the track-oriented ‘Agil’ and the grand-touring ‘Tur’. With the first engine completed, extensive testing is underway ahead of prototype road trials.
Based in Præstø, Denmark, Zenvo Automotive has crafted limited-edition hypercars since 2007. The Aurora and Mjølner continue this legacy, merging cutting-edge technology with a driver-centric ethos. Production will remain exclusive, with only a handful of units built annually.
