ZF Aftermarket Supporting Industry Shift to eMobility

New products support the industry shift to electric and hybrid solutions, drawing from ZF’s leading OE technologies

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – ZF Aftermarket continues to demonstrate its technology leadership to support the aftermarket industry’s shift toward electrification, ADAS and sustainability at the 2022 Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) and Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, November 1-4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company is showcasing its powerful aftermarket brands including ZF, Lemförder, SACHS, TRW and WABCO with comprehensive solutions to support internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles.

“At AAPEX and SEMA, ZF Aftermarket is demonstrating how we draw from our OE heritage to develop aftermarket products that help drive our customers’ growth and success,” said Ben Smart, ZF Vice President, Aftermarket North America. “As we evolve toward a more sustainable future of mobility, the need for replacement parts for electric and hybrid vehicles is rapidly growing. The solutions we’re showing at AAPEX and SEMA illustrate our position as a full systems provider that understands these challenges and can respond with solutions to lead the market,” Smart noted.

Philippe Colpron, Head of ZF Aftermarket, emphasized, “ZF looks to connect the aftermarket, partnering with technology leaders to bring value to the mobility industry – especially as we collectively prepare for a future that is increasingly connected, autonomous, shared, electrified and sustainable. With ZF Aftermarket’s unrivaled range of OE-quality parts and services, as well as e-mobility solutions, we strive to help our customers adapt, develop and grow, to give them an edge in this environment.”

Located at the Venetian Expo Center, Booth #5057, ZF Aftermarket’s AAPEX booth will highlight key products, including:

ZF Lifeguard e-Fluids

Addressing the higher levels of torque and force occurring in hybrid and electric engines, ZF Aftermarket has introduced a line of premium e-fluids specially formulated for these vehicles. ZF Lifeguard e-fluids provide lubrication, cooling and electrical insulation, helping to maximize transmission efficiency, optimize temperature control and eliminate battery failure for reduced wear and improved vehicle performance.

SACHS Continuous Damping Control (CDC) shocks

Building on the success of its SACHS Continuous Damping Control shocks, ZF Aftermarket has expanded its aftermarket offering of dampers for a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, with approximately 20 part numbers available in North America and 20 more in development for 2023.

TRW X-Tend Powered Lift Supports

ZF Aftermarket will debut at AAPEX its hydraulic lift for hatchback applications, TRW X-Tend Power Lift Supports. This convenient, hands-free support system is the first of its kind to combine the motor, lift support and connection into one operation. Additionally, an integrated sensor system guards against safety risks from improper operation or use and can stop the hatch in any position.

Lemförder Window Regulators

Also on display at AAPEX are ZF Aftermarket’s LEMFÖRDER window regulators, which offer optimal long-term operation with a strict adherence to original equipment standards and quality. The LEMFÖRDER regulator product line comprises both manual and electric window regulators featuring single cable, double cable, scissor system, electric motors and complete panel operation.

Expansion of Product Portfolio

ZF Aftermarket continues to expand vehicle coverage with its extensive portfolio of OE-quality aftermarket products. Since January, the company has added nearly 400 new parts to its aftermarket product portfolio, expanding coverage for nearly 200 million more vehicles in North America.

Remanufacturing

On the second day of AAPEX, ZF Aftermarket is highlighting its remanufacturing capabilities, which support sustainability through significant positive impact on the environment, economy, and product lifecycles. The company’s reman portfolio includes more than 250 different product types for the passenger car, commercial vehicle, industrial, marine and other industries. Through remanufacturing, ZF reduced its global C02 emissions by 12,444 tons in 2020 and realized an estimated energy savings of 8,740,000 kWh. In North America, our reman operations focus primarily on transmissions, steering gears, air compressors, air dryers, hydraulic parking brakes and ECUs. Remanufacturing returns previously used products to as-good or better-than-new condition from both a quality and performance perspective. This process enables products to have multiple lifecycles and offers significant time, material, and cost savings when compared to creating a replacement product completely from scratch.
