This acquisition is a major step in ACCIONA Energía’s electric mobility strategy. By integrating Cable Energía’s network, the company boosts its footprint in Spain and Portugal, positioning itself as a top provider of EV charging solutions. The 396 charging points are located in high-traffic spots like restaurants, shopping centers, supermarkets, hotels, and highways, ensuring convenience for EV drivers. The additional 321 charging points in the pipeline will further expand coverage once completed.
Since entering the EV charging market in late 2021, ACCIONA Energía has focused on delivering decarbonization solutions. Using its renewable energy expertise, the company powers its charging infrastructure sustainably. Acquiring Cable Energía provides immediate access to an established network, allowing faster scaling to meet rising demand.
Currently, ACCIONA Energía manages over 4,000 charging points, including owned and third-party units, in urban areas and along major routes. Projects like Madrid’s largest on-street charging hub and plans for 1,000+ new public charging points in Spain highlight its growth ambitions. These efforts make charging more accessible, supporting EV adoption and a low-carbon future in the region.
