AMPECO has released CoOperator, an AI-powered operations agent designed for EV charging network operators. The tool provides automated root cause diagnostics, a conversational interface, and plain-language action execution across AMPECO’s platform, which currently supports more than 230,000 chargers in over 70 countries.
Highlights
- CoOperator delivers automated root cause diagnostics through structured “Insights” covering session failures, authorization issues, and hardware faults
- The conversational interface allows operators to manage pricing, troubleshoot chargers, and configure settings through natural language
- All actions require explicit operator confirmation before execution, with full audit trails and tenant-isolated data architecture
- The tool is available now to all AMPECO customers, with 1,000 tokens included monthly at no additional cost
Automated Diagnostics at Launch
CoOperator introduces three categories of automated diagnostics AMPECO calls “Insights.” Each delivers a structured root cause analysis with confidence levels, recommended actions, and historical context.
Session Insights analyze a full charging session. This includes metadata, charging periods, tariff snapshots, transaction records, and OCPP/OCPI message logs. The output covers session quality, root cause identification, driver behavior analysis, and prevention recommendations.
Authorization Insights trace why a driver was unable to charge. Possible causes include expired RFID tokens, payment failures, network errors, fraud triggers, or business rule conflicts. The system provides a root cause explanation with confidence levels and actionable next steps.
Issue Insights generate automatically when a hardware fault or connectivity loss is detected. The analysis includes scope assessment, distinguishing between a single charger problem, a location-wide issue, or a pattern across an entire hardware model fleet.
Conversational Interface and Action Execution
CoOperator operates as a persistent sidebar within the AMPECO operator dashboard. It draws from live charging data, platform documentation, and each operator’s system configuration. Operators interact in natural language with no command syntax required.
Beyond diagnostics, CoOperator executes operational actions. These include creating chargers, updating pricing across locations, configuring session validation thresholds, and managing user groups. Every consequential change requires explicit confirmation before execution.
Michael Greenberg, SVP of Growth at AMPECO, said CoOperator allows operators to add locations, adjust pricing, and troubleshoot across their entire network through a single conversation.
Data Isolation and Security
Each customer’s CoOperator instance is physically isolated at the architectural level. Operator data is not used for model training. AMPECO uses human-curated operational learnings stripped of identifiable or proprietary data. All actions are logged with a full audit trail and execute within existing permission models.
Availability and Roadmap
CoOperator is available now to all AMPECO customers. Each account receives 1,000 tokens per month at no additional cost. Operators can activate it through the AMPECO Marketplace or their Account Manager.
Later this year, AMPECO plans to introduce CoOperator Workforce — autonomous AI workers handling routine network operations in the background. API and MCP (Model Context Protocol) access will follow, enabling integration into existing workflows.
