New Electric Vehicles for China

Leading the charge are the Audi Q6L e-tron and the Audi Q6L Sportback e-tron. These are the first fully electric models developed specifically for the Chinese market based on the advanced Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Both vehicles are designed to impress with exceptional driving and charging performance, alongside remarkable range and efficiency.

A key feature of these models is the extended wheelbase, a modification made to cater directly to the demands of Chinese customers for more spacious interiors. Furthermore, the vehicles come equipped with a China-specific infotainment system, ensuring a user experience that is intuitive and tailored to the local market. The production of these innovative electric vehicles is handled by the Audi FAW NEV Company, a joint venture between Audi and its long-standing partner FAW. A new, dedicated manufacturing site has been constructed in Changchun specifically for the production of these PPE-based models. Audi also provided a glimpse of another PPE model for China, the Audi A6L e-tron, which was first unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025.

Next-Generation Combustion Engines

In addition to its electric vehicle lineup, Audi is also refreshing its offerings in the combustion-engine segment. The company is launching the next generation of its successful mid-size class with the Audi A5L and the Audi A5L Sportback. These models are built on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), which is engineered to deliver a combination of dynamic driving characteristics and high efficiency.

The Audi A5L is launched in collaboration with FAW, while the Audi A5L Sportback is brought to market with partner SAIC. Both vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art driver assistance features, further enhancing safety and comfort. This dual-platform strategy, with both PPE for electric models and PPC for combustion engines, allows Audi to cater to a wide range of customer needs and preferences within the competitive Chinese market.
