Autel Energy, a leading global provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, announced the completion of the first ultra-fast EV charging hub in the Eastern United States. Located in Deerfield, Massachusetts, this project is a result of collaboration among the Town of Deerfield, Rivermoor Energy, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Rexel Energy Solutions, Autel Energy’s partner. The hub aims to enhance EV infrastructure in the region, providing faster and more reliable charging for electric vehicles.
Key Highlights:
- MaxiCharger DC HiPower technology provides up to 640 kW output, enabling EV charging in as little as 20 minutes.
- Collaboration with Rexel Energy Solutions played a crucial role in the project’s success, supporting EV adoption and economic growth.
- Strategically located along key highways, the hub addresses gaps in the region’s EV infrastructure, making long-distance travel more accessible.
- The project boosts economic growth for Deerfield, including new pedestrian walkways and easier access to downtown businesses.
Autel’s MaxiCharger DC HiPower technology, with a maximum output of 640 kW, powers the new charging hub, providing ultra-fast charging capabilities that can power up an EV in approximately 20 minutes. This advanced technology addresses charging speed and range anxiety, crucial factors for drivers considering the switch to electric vehicles. The chargers are manufactured at Autel’s facility in Greensboro, NC, demonstrating the company’s commitment to high-performance, American-made solutions.
Rexel Energy Solutions partnered closely with Autel to bring this project to life. Their expertise ensured the project was completed efficiently and on schedule. Paul Michaud, General Manager of Rexel Energy Solutions, emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “The Deerfield charging hub is a testament to what collaboration can achieve in advancing the clean energy transition. By partnering with innovative companies like Autel, who meet Made in America requirements, we’re supporting EV adoption while strengthening local economies and creating opportunities in the energy sector.”
Michelle Luo, Chief Revenue Officer at Autel Energy North America, praised the project, noting, “The Deerfield charging hub is a model for the future of EV infrastructure, setting a high bar for speed, reliability, and sustainability.”
The hub’s strategic location along key highways makes it an essential charging point for drivers traveling long distances, addressing infrastructure gaps in the region. The addition of advanced cloud software by Autel enhances the user experience, with real-time monitoring and user-friendly payment systems to streamline the charging process.
Christopher Dunne, Acting Town Administrator for Deerfield, highlighted the hub’s impact: “This project is not only an impactful one for the environment and the advancement of clean energy, but it’s also a boost for the economic backbone of our Town. With the added accessibility, climate change mitigation and new pedestrian walkways leading to downtown businesses, Deerfield can continue to thrive and serve its local business owners and attract new customers to our business community.”
Autel Energy’s involvement in the Deerfield charging hub forms part of its broader initiative to expand its network of high-speed EV chargers, making electric vehicle travel more practical and accessible across the United States.
