AVILOO, an Austrian battery diagnostics leader with U.S. operations in Denver, has formally partnered with Brooklyn-based Lectrium to integrate independent battery health data into automotive retail strategies. This collaboration combines AVILOO’s diagnostic hardware with Lectrium’s digital merchandising tools, allowing dealerships to present verified battery condition reports directly to consumers. The initiative targets the primary barrier in the pre-owned electric vehicle market: buyer uncertainty regarding traction battery health.
Highlights
- Integrated Diagnostics: AVILOO’s manufacturer-independent battery certification is now compatible with Lectrium’s dealership sales tools.
- Rapid Testing: The AVILOO FLASH Test provides cell-level analysis and State of Health (SoH) data in three minutes without road testing.
- Value Retention: Verified battery health data can increase resale values by up to $1,000 per unit while shortening sales cycles.
- Lease Return Readiness: The partnership prepares dealers for the high volume of EV lease returns projected for 2026.
Operationalizing Battery Health Data
The core of this partnership relies on the AVILOO FLASH Test, a diagnostic protocol designed for high-volume commercial environments. Unlike traditional methods that may require extended driving cycles, this system utilizes a plug-and-play approach via the OBD interface.
Key technical capabilities include:
- Static Analysis: The system performs comprehensive diagnostics without the need to drive the vehicle.
- Speed: Detailed Battery Certificates are generated in approximately three minutes.
- Market Coverage: The dynamic database covers 96% of all Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs).
- Granularity: Analysis occurs at the cell level to detect specific anomalies, degradation patterns, and precise State of Health (SoH).
Strategic Integration for Dealerships
Lectrium will utilize AVILOO’s diagnostic output to enhance its existing suite of EV merchandising tools. Lectrium currently powers over 400 dealerships, providing software that clarifies range, charging requirements, and tax incentives for online shoppers.
Enhancing the Vehicle Detail Page (VDP)
By integrating the AVILOO Battery Certificate directly onto the Vehicle Detail Page (VDP), dealers can provide objective, third-party verification of a vehicle’s most critical component. This moves the sales conversation from estimation to verification.
Peter Barba, CEO & Co-founder of Lectrium, notes that this transparency is critical for remarketing accuracy. “By integrating verified battery range and the AVILOO Battery Certificate directly onto the VDP, we give shoppers real transparency and give dealers a tool that builds trust,” Barba stated. He emphasized that this innovation is essential for managing the incoming wave of 2026 lease returns.
Economic Impact on Inventory
The collaboration addresses the economic risks associated with used EVs. Marcus Berger, CEO of AVILOO GmbH, asserts that independent verification directly correlates to improved margins.
“Our clients generate more clicks, more bids, shorter selling cycles—and ultimately a higher selling price, which can be up to $1,000 per car,” Berger explained. The partnership aims to standardize this level of transparency in the U.S. market, mirroring practices already establishing traction in Europe.
