Expanding bp pulse’s U.S. Charging Network
The new Houston site is bp pulse’s latest large-scale EV charging hub, designed for airport travelers, ride-hail drivers, and local EV owners. The 40 ultrafast bays—each delivering up to 150 kW—allow vehicles to recharge quickly while providing amenities such as covered canopies and free Wi-Fi for drivers.
“This is another example of how we’re meeting EV drivers and ride-hailing fleets where they are,” said Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas. “Across metro and airport locations like this one, we’re expanding access to convenient, reliable charging.”
Supporting Hertz and Rideshare Electrification
The Hobby Airport hub continues bp pulse’s collaboration with Hertz, following similar installations at LAX, SFO, and BOS. These locations aim to serve Hertz’s expanding fleet of electric rentals and rideshare drivers.
“As our rideshare drivers often turn to EVs, having fast, reliable charging near key locations like Hobby Airport makes a real difference,” said Doria Holbrook, EVP Mobility at Hertz.
Broader Retail and Hospitality Expansion
Beyond its standalone hubs, bp pulse is integrating charging into bp’s broader U.S. retail network, which includes bp, Amoco, ampm, Thorntons, and TravelCenters of America sites. The company also announced a strategic agreement with Waffle House to install chargers at select restaurants beginning in 2026.
With over 40,000 charge points worldwide and plans for thousands more across the U.S., bp pulse continues to grow its footprint to serve both EV and traditional vehicle customers efficiently.
