Driving Economic and Environmental Impact
BYD’s R$5.5 billion investment in Camaçari is set to create up to 20,000 jobs by project completion. Starting with an annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles, the factory plans to scale to 300,000, transitioning to full local manufacturing. A groundbreaking flex-fuel hybrid engine, the 1.5 DM-i, developed with Brazilian scientists, combines ethanol and gasoline for enhanced efficiency, aligning with Brazil’s renewable fuel leadership.
