DM-p Powertrain Arrives in the UK
The Ti 7 uses BYD’s DM-p Super Hybrid system, pairing electric drive at both axles with a longitudinally mounted 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The company puts combined output at 402 horsepower (408 PS), with acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph. BYD notes these figures remain subject to final confirmation.
The company says the gasoline engine spends most of its working life using its 148-horsepower (150 PS) output to generate energy for the 35.6 kWh Blade Battery, blending electric response with the flexibility of gasoline range. On battery power alone, BYD reports up to 74 miles of driving, also pending final confirmation.
What Comes Standard on the Excellence AWD?
The Ti 7 will be sold in the UK solely in Excellence AWD form. Standard equipment covers:
- Infotainment: 15.6-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 18-speaker audio system
- Convenience: dual 50W wireless smartphone chargers, plus an in-car refrigerator and drinks warmer between the driver and front passenger
- Climate: three-zone climate control, with heating and ventilation for the front seats and the outer second-row seats
- Interior: leather upholstery in black, light gray or brown; panoramic glass roof panel; acoustic glass for the windshield and front windows
- Exterior: 20-inch alloy wheels within wheel arch extensions, privacy glass from the rear doors back, LED lighting all round with a dynamic welcome animation and door-mirror puddle lights
Six exterior finishes are offered. Starlight Silver is a no-cost option, while Mountain Green, Obsidian Black, Jade Green and Titanium Grey each add £1,100 (about $1,465). Matte Titanium Grey costs an additional £2,000 (about $2,665).
Three Rows and Cargo Capacity
BYD says the seven-seat arrangement was developed specifically for the European and UK markets. Second-row passengers get seats adjustable in four directions, with knee and headroom across all three positions. The third row adds passenger capacity when needed and folds away when it is not.
Cargo volume varies by seating configuration:
- Seven-seat mode: 4.4 cubic feet (126 liters)
- Third row folded: 34.3 cubic feet (970 liters)
- Second and third rows folded: 64.6 cubic feet (1,830 liters)
Ordering and Delivery Timing
The Ti 7 is available to pre-order now from all BYD retailers. Customers who want early delivery can place a £500 (about $665) deposit, which BYD will match with a £500 contribution of its own. First customer deliveries are expected in January 2027, and the company says full specifications will be confirmed in due course.
