ChargePoint and RAW Charging have announced a new multiyear partnership to rapidly expand DC fast charging infrastructure across the United Kingdom. The agreement includes an initial $7.5 million investment to deploy more than 300 new charge points throughout 2026. This collaboration extends RAW Charging’s existing relationship with ChargePoint, utilizing the company’s integrated hardware, software, and maintenance services to support the UK’s growing electric vehicle fleet.
Highlights
- The partnership includes an initial $7.5 million USD commitment to install more than 300 new DC fast charging stations across the UK.
- All new installations will operate on the ChargePoint software platform and include Assure Pro maintenance services to ensure network reliability.
- RAW Charging will focus deployments on hospitality, leisure, and retail locations to provide seamless destination charging for EV drivers.
- The initiative supports the UK government mandate requiring 100% of new car and van sales to be zero emission by 2035.
Integrated Technology and Maintenance
Under the terms of the agreement, RAW Charging will utilize ChargePoint as its primary technology partner for hardware and software solutions. The deployment features the ChargePoint Platform, a flexible software suite designed to manage station operations and driver interactions. To maintain high uptime, the stations are backed by ChargePoint’s Assure Pro service, which provides advanced monitoring and maintenance.
Destination Charging Strategy
The collaboration strengthens RAW Charging’s “Connecting Amazing Places” campaign, which prioritizes installing chargers at iconic UK destinations rather than traditional enroute stops. By placing infrastructure at retail and leisure sites, the partnership aims to normalize charging during daily activities. According to Jason Simpson, CEO at RAW Charging, the ecosystem will provide drivers with easy station location data and multiple payment options, including contactless, app-based, and roaming.
Supporting UK Electrification
The expansion arrives as the UK surpasses one million electric vehicles on the road, increasing the demand for high-reliability infrastructure. This project aligns with national goals to transition to electric mobility ahead of the 2035 zero-emission mandate. Rick Wilmer, CEO at ChargePoint, stated that the collaboration combines proven technology with operational excellence to ensure drivers have dependable access to fast charging wherever they travel.
