Edge Energy has unveiled a 100kW single-phase DC fast charging platform in collaboration with Lincoln Electric and DC America, marking a major advance in bringing high-speed EV charging to areas without access to three-phase power.
Built on Edge Energy’s proprietary solid-state digital phase conversion technology, the new system integrates Lincoln Electric’s Velion® 50kW DC Fast Chargers within DC America’s ruggedized charging platform. The result is a scalable and cost-efficient charging solution suitable for commercial, industrial, and public use cases.
Simplified Installation and Lower Costs
The single-phase platform eliminates one of the most significant barriers to fast charger deployment—three-phase grid access—allowing installation in rural or underdeveloped areas where grid upgrades are typically costly and time-consuming. Its modular architecture supports 100kW output and reduces installation time, capital cost, and permitting requirements, while improving return on investment for operators.
Commercial Rollout and Applications
According to Edge Energy CEO Shaun Shuler, this innovation “unlocks fast charging in places where it was previously impossible,” enabling broader EV adoption across underserved regions. The platform is compact and transportable, designed for quick deployment across diverse applications such as municipal charging hubs, fleet depots, and highway rest areas.
Initial deployments are planned for Q4 2025, and units are now available for pre-order via Edge Energy’s website.
