Ferrari and SK On have solidified their ongoing partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signaling a continued commitment to advancing battery cell technology. This collaboration, rooted in a shared vision for innovation, marks a significant step towards enhancing the performance and efficiency of electric vehicles (EVs). At the heart of this partnership is the drive to combine Ferrari’s legendary engineering with SK On’s cutting-edge battery solutions, setting new benchmarks in the automotive industry.

Since 2019, SK On has played a crucial role in Ferrari’s foray into electrified supercars, starting with the SF90 Stradale, Ferrari’s premier plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). This collaboration expanded over the years to include the 296 GTB and GTS models, underscoring the synergy between Ferrari’s quest for unmatched vehicular performance and SK On’s expertise in battery technology.

2021 and 2022 witnessed the introduction of the 296 GTB and GTS, respectively, further cementing this productive partnership. Most notably, the limited-edition SF90 XX Stradale and Spider were launched, showcasing a staggering 1030 horsepower through a blend of V8 internal combustion engines and electric motors.

Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, highlighted the essence of the collaboration: “When companies and suppliers come together, collaboration powers common progress.” He emphasized the mutual exploration of new frontiers and the dynamism of shared ideas.

Echoing this sentiment, Lee Seok-hee, CEO of SK On, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Ferrari’s leadership in the sports car market. He underscored the potential of this partnership to deliver “new experiences and values” to clients by merging the technological prowess of both companies.

This MoU between Ferrari and SK On not only reaffirms their commitment to technological advancement but also sets the stage for the next wave of innovations in the electric vehicle space, promising enhanced performance and sustainability.
