The first MAN eTruck has been officially delivered to Duvenbeck Group, marking a significant step in the electrification of freight transport. Designed specifically for automotive logistics, the Ultra Low Liner eTGX meets the high-volume demands of Volkswagen’s plant logistics while ensuring a climate-friendly supply chain. As part of a broader initiative, Duvenbeck plans to introduce up to 120 MAN eTGX units by 2026, operating across the Rhine-Ruhr and BeNeLux regions.

Key Highlights:

  • Ultra Low Liner Design: Tailored to automotive logistics, it accommodates semitrailers with an interior height of three meters.
  • Sustainability Goals: Supports Volkswagen’s “goTOzero impact logistics” program aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
  • Advanced Capabilities: Offers a range of 500 kilometers and modular battery configurations with power levels of up to 544 hp.
  • Strategic Deployment: Enables flexible logistics solutions where rail transport is unavailable.
  • Comprehensive Support: MAN’s 360-degree eMobility Consulting ensures seamless integration into existing operations.

Duvenbeck’s Commitment to Green Logistics

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Duvenbeck’s strategy, demonstrated by initiatives such as the Green Logistics program. This program prioritizes low-emission, resource-efficient solutions, including alternative drive systems and innovative charging concepts. Bernd Reining, Senior Director Procurement at Duvenbeck, emphasized, “The MAN eTruck is an important step towards emission-free logistics. It helps us to meet our customers’ requirements and protect the environment at the same time. Sustainability is part of our everyday practice.”

Volkswagen’s Climate-Friendly Logistics Efforts

The MAN eTruck will supply Volkswagen’s production facilities, with its deployment beginning at the Wolfsburg plant. Simon Motter, Head of Volkswagen Group Logistics, highlighted the initiative’s significance: “The use of MAN eTrucks is part of the goTOzero impact logistics program, with which Volkswagen has embarked on the path to consistently climate-friendly logistics.” In scenarios where rail is not viable, battery-electric trucks (BEVs) powered by green electricity offer a sustainable alternative.

Technological Innovations Driving Efficiency

The Ultra Low Liner eTGX is optimized for automotive logistics with features such as:

  • Semitrailer Height: Just 950 mm for maximum interior height.
  • Battery Range: Modular battery packs providing up to 500 kilometers.
  • Charging Technology: Options include CCS and MCS, enabling charging rates of up to one megawatt.

MAN’s eMobility Consulting provides tailored solutions, from vehicle deployment analysis to charging infrastructure planning, ensuring operational efficiency for transport companies transitioning to electromobility.

Flexibility Through TIP Group Rental

Duvenbeck’s use of the MAN eTruck is supported by the TIP Group, which provides rental solutions to facilitate the transition to sustainable logistics. “Our aim is to equip our customers with modern, environmentally friendly vehicles and to support them on their way to greater sustainability,” stated Oliver Bange, Vice President Central Europe Region of the TIP Group.

By leveraging innovative technologies and strategic partnerships, the MAN eTruck sets a benchmark for sustainable logistics, enabling a greener future for the automotive supply chain.
