Ford Pro is shifting its European commercial EV charging strategy to a partner-driven model. The division has selected ChargePoint as its first collaborator, launching fleet charging solutions in Germany and the UK before expanding across Europe through 2026.
Highlights
- Ford Pro taps ChargePoint to deliver home and depot charging for commercial EV fleets in Germany and the UK
- Partner-led model replaces in-house approach, with additional market-specific providers expected across Europe in 2026
- Fleet tools include automated home charging reimbursement, DC charging, and dynamic load management
- Ford Pro Telematics integration preserved, giving fleet managers a single platform for vehicle and charging data
New Charging Model for Commercial Fleets
Ford Pro is moving away from managing charging infrastructure directly. Instead, the company will partner with specialized providers to deliver installation, hardware, and fleet software for its commercial EV customers.
ChargePoint is the first partner under this model. The collaboration covers home and depot/office charger installation with what Ford Pro described as faster setup times and advanced fleet management tools.
“This more flexible and specialist-driven offering is designed to help van owners and operators get the absolute most from their vehicles,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro, Europe.
Ford Pro said it plans to announce additional market-specific charging providers throughout 2026 as the model scales across Europe.
Fleet Management and Software Features
The ChargePoint partnership gives fleet operators access to several tools designed for commercial use. These include:
- Automated Home Charging Reimbursement for drivers who charge at home
- DC charging capabilities for faster turnaround at depots
- Static and dynamic load management to balance energy demand across charging stations
- Fleet software controls for charger access, tariff management, and energy cost tracking
Ford Pro emphasized that vehicle charging records will remain accessible through Ford Pro Telematics. This allows fleet managers to monitor charging data alongside other vehicle information in a single platform.
Vehicles Covered Under the Program
The charging program supports Ford Pro’s full European electrified lineup:
- E-Transit — up to 402 km WLTP range
- E-Transit Custom — up to 373 km WLTP range
- E-Transit Courier — up to 334 km WLTP range
- Ranger PHEV — up to 43 km electric-only WLTP range
Ford Pro said the partner model is designed to help operators maximize uptime and reduce running costs across these vehicles.
