Incoming CEO Brings EV Charging Leadership Background
Hunter arrives with senior leadership experience across the EV charging industry. At Shell, he led Shell Recharge Solutions as Global Vice President, E-Mobility, and before that was accountable for EV charging globally at BorgWarner. He currently serves as an independent non-executive director at Ignitis, which Fuuse identifies as the largest charge point operator in the Baltics. The company said Hunter will lead its next stage of growth and build on its position in the UK charge point management market.
Hunter said: “I am delighted to be joining Fuuse at such a pivotal moment. Fuuse is the leading CPMS in the UK with a reputation for excellence and I look forward to building on those strong foundations to support the company’s next stage of growth. The EV charging market is entering a critical phase of maturation, and Fuuse is exceptionally well-positioned to lead it.”
Founder Steps Down After a Decade
Gibson started the company in 2016 as a data analytics business before launching Fuuse in June 2021. During his tenure he oversaw several funding rounds, including the £8.7 million (about $11.7 million) Series A in May 2024. The company’s Fleet 360 platform combines workplace, home and public EV charging into a single fleet view.
Gibson commented: “Roger’s experience is outstanding and I am confident Fuuse will be in the very best of hands. Over the past decade we have built one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech companies, won a roster of clients that includes hundreds of household names, and become one of the UK’s most influential companies in the EV charging sector. I leave immensely proud of what the team has achieved – and confident this will only get stronger.”
Paul Brennan, chairman of Fuuse, said: “This is a transition that Michael planned thoughtfully and on his own terms – a testament to the leader he is. He has built an exceptional business, and the board is deeply grateful for his commitment and vision. We are equally delighted to welcome Roger, who brings deep experience across the global EV industry, a clear-eyed view of where the market is heading, and the leadership credentials to take Fuuse further still.”
