Geely Auto UK has expanded its EX5 electric SUV range with a new flagship Ultra variant offering a larger 68.39 kWh battery, up to 280 miles of WLTP range, and 750 kg of braked towing capacity. Priced from £38,990 OTR (approximately $52,630), the Geely EX5 Ultra goes on sale through the Geely Auto UK retailer network on 5 May 2026, with first deliveries expected the same month.
Highlights
- 68.39 kWh battery delivers up to 280 miles WLTP range, the longest in the EX5 lineup
- 0–62 mph in 7.6 seconds with 320 Nm of torque, built on Geely’s Global Electric Architecture (GEA)
- 750 kg braked towing capacity with Trailer Stability Assist, a first for the EX5 range
- Priced from £38,990 OTR (~$52,630), with new Rainforest Green exterior paint option
Bigger Battery, Longer Range
The Geely EX5 Ultra is built around a 68.39 kWh battery pack delivering up to 280 miles of WLTP range. The variant accelerates from 0–62 mph in 7.6 seconds and produces 320 Nm of torque. Geely says the powertrain retains the responsiveness of its Global Electric Architecture while extending usable range for longer journeys.
The standard Geely EX5, launched in the UK in October 2025, uses a 60.22 kWh LFP battery with a claimed 267-mile range. The Ultra’s larger pack adds capacity but also weight, a tradeoff Geely’s UK leadership addressed directly.

Towing Capability Added to the Range
For the first time, the EX5 lineup offers a 750 kg braked towing capacity, supported by Trailer Stability Assist. The capability targets buyers using the SUV for light leisure towing, including trailers and small caravans. The Ultra also debuts a new Rainforest Green exterior color.
Equipment and Pricing
The Ultra carries over the equipment level of the existing Max trim, including a 13.8-inch head-up display, a 16-speaker FlyMe sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, and ventilated, massaging front seats. Standard EX5 features retained across the range include a 15.4-inch central infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a surround-view camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full ADAS suite.
Pricing across the range starts at £31,990 OTR (~$43,180) for the entry-level SE, rising to £38,990 OTR (~$52,630) for the Ultra. The battery and vehicle are covered by an eight-year warranty.
Executive Comment
“The launch of the Geely EX5 Ultra marks yet another important step forward for Geely Auto in the UK. We’ve listened to customer and retailer feedback and responded with a model that offers greater range, higher specification and increased everyday usability, while remaining true to our commitment to outstanding value,” said Michael Yang, Managing Director of Geely Auto UK.
“We also recognise that a larger battery brings additional weight and higher energy consumption, so we have carefully struck a balance between battery weight and range enhancement – and as with the rest of the Geely EX5 range, both the battery and the vehicle are covered by an 8-year warranty, giving our customers added peace of mind,” Yang added.
Home Charging Offer Continues
Geely Auto UK is extending its Andersen EV home charging partnership to Ultra buyers. Customers receive a dual-branded Andersen 7 kW smart home charger with professional installation for £499 (~$675), against a market value of £1,499 (~$2,025).
