Genesis Motor UK has selected Ohme, the UK’s largest home EV charging company, as its exclusive home charging partner to simplify the transition to electric mobility for its customers and retail network.
Highlights
- Ohme to supply and install chargers across Genesis’ UK retail network, offering comprehensive customer and retailer support.
- Dynamic smart charging automatically optimizes costs and reduces CO₂ emissions by charging during low-tariff, high-renewable energy periods.
- Charging a Genesis GV60 (84 kWh battery, 348-mile WLTP range) can cost as little as £5.88 using Ohme’s Intelligent Octopus Go tariff.
- Partnership builds on Ohme’s growing network, which includes Hyundai and Motability Operations.
Streamlined EV Ownership Experience
Through a new referral system, Genesis customers can easily access Ohme’s chargers, which integrate hardware supply, installation, and after-sales support. Retailers will also receive product training to guide customers through setup and usage.
“Ohme’s strong customer service ethos aligns with Genesis’ Son Nim customer-centric approach,” said Ashley Andrew, President and CEO of Genesis and Hyundai UK. “We’re delighted to partner with Ohme for the benefit of our customers and our retailer network.”
Intelligent Charging with Cost and Environmental Benefits
Ohme’s dynamic charging platform uses real-time grid data to optimize energy use and minimize charging costs. Compatible with tariffs like Intelligent Octopus Go (7.0p/kWh), the system enables charging at the lowest-cost times and supports solar integration for reduced grid reliance.
“We’re looking forward to bringing the Ohme benefits of easy charging and low running costs to Genesis customers,” said Peter McDonald, Ohme Director. “With Genesis refreshing its electric line-up this year, customers not only have an updated product range but access to all that Ohme can bring to their ownership experience.”
Expanding Network of Partnerships
Founded in 2017, Ohme is the official charging partner for Hyundai, Motability Operations, and several UK housing developers. The company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications and has been recognized by investors as a gigacorn—a firm with the potential to eliminate one gigatonne of CO₂ annually.
