Hyundai Motor Group has announced significant expansions to its research and development (R&D) facilities in Europe, including an enhanced test center at Nürburgring and a new Square Campus in Germany’s Rhine-Main region. These upgrades aim to accelerate innovation in sustainable mobility and high-performance vehicle technologies, bolstering the Group’s commitment to electrification and environmental responsibility.

  • Nürburgring Test Center Expansion:
    • Addition of 834 square meters featuring workshops, specialized labs, and high-voltage EV charging infrastructure.
    • Reinforces the Group’s focus on integrating electric high-performance capabilities with its N-performance lineup.
  • New Square Campus Opening in March 2025:
    • A state-of-the-art 25,000-square-meter facility in the Rhine-Main region.
    • Includes the largest four-wheel noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) dynamometer, plus advanced chassis and powertrain testing equipment.
  • Sustainability Features:
    • Incorporation of eco-friendly materials, photovoltaic panels, heat pump systems, and a rooftop garden.
    • Aimed at supporting Hyundai’s goal of zero-tailpipe emissions by 2035 in Europe.

The Nürburgring test center, operational since 2013, now boasts advanced facilities that support EV durability and high-performance testing, further solidifying Hyundai’s competitive edge in sustainable mobility.
