Hyundai has secured Car and Driver’s 2024 EV of the Year award for the third consecutive year with the IONIQ 5 N. This accolade marks Hyundai’s continued dominance in the electric vehicle segment, following previous wins by the IONIQ 6 and the standard IONIQ 5. The IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai’s first electrified model to wear the N badge, has set a new standard for high-performance electric vehicles, combining motorsport-inspired technology with everyday drivability.

The 2024 IONIQ 5 N is Hyundai’s flagship high-performance electric SUV, boasting 641 horsepower (478 kW) with N Grin Boost activated. This power is delivered through a two-stage inverter and a new 84-kWh battery, showcasing the vehicle’s motorsport-inspired performance.

The IONIQ 5 N features N e-shift, a technology that replicates the gear-change sensation of a dual-clutch transmission, and N Active Sound+, which offers selectable soundtracks to simulate an internal combustion engine. These features are designed to enhance the driving experience, making the IONIQ 5 N feel more like a traditional high-performance vehicle, despite being fully electric.
