IONIQ 9 BigTime Concept Details
The IONIQ 9 BigTime features a lifted suspension system, unique wheels, and oversized off-road tires, transforming the electric SUV into an adventure-ready prototype. Custom auxiliary light bars accentuate its rugged aesthetic, while the concept retains the refined performance of the IONIQ 9 Calligraphy AWD.
Hyundai Motor North America CMO Sean Gilpin described the build as a testament to innovation and personalization:
“Its aggressive lift, all-terrain tires, and rugged design inspire both innovation and customization — the hallmarks of any successful SEMA concept.”

BigTime’s Design Inspiration
BigTime drew inspiration from its vintage 1977 cabover truck, “Bud,” combining retro styling cues with the IONIQ 9’s modern electric platform.
“We themed this IONIQ 9 off of our vintage cabover ‘Bud,’ blending new tech with a nostalgic look to make it a capable and character-filled off-roader,” said Zach Jobe.
The partnership extends beyond the physical build. BigTime will document the IONIQ 9 project through a series of social media features and build stories on Instagram and other platforms, reinforcing its message that EV customization can be both accessible and exciting.
