KGM Musso EV Brings Electric Power to Pickup Segment

KGM Motors UK has launched the Musso EV, a fully electric pickup offering 240 miles of range, 2.3-tonne towing, and full-time AWD, priced from £42,495.

KGM Motors UK has launched the Musso EV, the brand’s first fully electric pickup for the UK market. The vehicle pairs an 80.6 kWh BYD lithium iron phosphate battery with full-time all-wheel drive, targeting both fleet and private buyers. Priced from £42,495 including VAT after the £2,500 Plug-in Van Grant, the Musso EV is expected at participating dealers for test drives in May 2026.

Highlights

  • The Musso EV delivers up to 240 miles of WLTP range and charges from 20–80% in 31 minutes on a 300 kW DC rapid charger.
  • A 2.3-tonne towing capacity and 690 kg payload position the truck for commercial and lifestyle use.
  • Front and rear motors produce 207 PS and 339 Nm of torque through a dynamic full-time AWD system.
  • At 4% Benefit in Kind for 2026/27, KGM claims the lowest personal tax charge of any pickup in the UK, starting from approximately £30 per month.

Powertrain and Charging

The Musso EV uses an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by BYD. The pack uses Cell to Pack technology for increased energy density. WLTP range is rated at 240 miles, and 20–80% charging takes 31 minutes via 300 kW DC fast charging.

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality allows users to power tools, equipment, or accessories directly from the vehicle. Regenerative braking is adjustable in three stages via steering wheel paddles. The system adapts to gradients, traffic conditions, and speed cameras to optimize energy recovery.

Performance and Capability

Front and rear 152.2 kW motors deliver a combined 207 PS and 339 Nm of torque. The full-time AWD system continuously monitors wheel speeds and redistributes torque across varying surfaces.

Towing capacity reaches 2.3 tonnes, and payload is rated at 690 kg. Self-levelling rear suspension and a reinforced chassis support heavy-duty use. The load bed accepts partitions to secure cargo, and the tailgate supports up to 150 kg — doubling as seating for two adults.

Design and Interior

The exterior features a bold black grille, LED lighting, muscular wheel arches, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Six color options are available:

  • Grand White
  • Amazon Green
  • Space Black
  • Ultra Marine
  • Marble Grey
  • Blazing Gold

Inside, a panoramic widescreen setup combines a 12.3-inch digital cluster with a 12.3-inch infotainment display running Athena 2.0. Front seats are heated, ventilated, and 8-way power-adjustable with 2-way lumbar support. Second-row passengers get heated seats, reclining backrests, and generous legroom.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The body structure uses 78% high-tensile steel and includes eight airbags. Driver assistance features include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Blind Spot Detection
  • 3D Around-View Monitoring

Pricing and Availability

The Musso EV is priced at £42,495 including VAT after the £2,500 Plug-in Van Grant. Customer test drives begin in May 2026 at participating dealers. More details are available at www.kgm-motors.co.uk/new-cars/all-new-musso-ev/.
