InfiMotion Technology held a public debut event in Wuxi, China, on July 16, 2026, marking its first appearance as an independent e-drive systems supplier to the global automotive industry. The Chinese electric-drive specialist said the showcase demonstrated end-to-end capabilities spanning global R&D, extreme validation, and micron-precision manufacturing, positioning the company as a growing force in the new-energy vehicle (NEV) drivetrain sector. “We have spent years perfecting our e-drive technology for leading global automakers, and we are now ready to stand on our own as a trusted partner for the wider market,” said Joe Lin, CEO of InfiMotion Technology.

Global R&D Network Spans Five Cities
InfiMotion’s R&D operation stretches across Wuxi, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou, and Gothenburg, with more than 1,000 engineers — including a Swedish team of over 100 — collaborating in real time through a cloud-based system, the company said. InfiMotion frames this footprint as a response to real-world operating extremes: high-load endurance testing on European autobahns, cold-start validation in Nordic winters, and full-load operation in Southeast Asia’s tropical climate.
A Track Record of Engineering Milestones
InfiMotion points to a series of firsts across its five-year history:
- 2021: The company says it pioneered China’s first self-developed 400V SiC electric drive unit (EDU), supplied for the ZEEKR 001.
- 2024: InfiMotion launched what it describes as the world’s first 11-in-1 domain-controlled EDU, achieving over 90% CLTC efficiency on a 400V IGBT platform, according to the company.
- 2025: The company released what it calls the world’s first mass-produced magnesium-aluminum alloy dual-motor EDU, along with a 900V magnesium-alloy coaxial EDU delivering 3,835 lb-ft (5,200 Nm) peak torque at just 170 lbs (77 kg) net weight.
InfiMotion also cites work on Umini-pin winding, 0.2mm ultra-thin silicon steel laminations, and embedded and three-level PCM technologies, and says it is helping lead the formulation of industry standards for amorphous alloy materials.
Validation and Certification Standards
InfiMotion says it follows ASPICE Level 3 development processes and holds ASIL-D certification under ISO 26262. Its validation regimen includes temperature cycling from -60°C to 140°C, 1,500-hour salt-spray testing, and 2,500-hour comprehensive endurance runs; the company says one European premium automaker required more than 9,000 individual test items. InfiMotion’s CNAS-accredited testing center includes what the company describes as the world’s first 30,000-rpm motor test bench.
Precision Manufacturing Across Five Facilities
InfiMotion operates five manufacturing bases in China — Wuxi, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Quzhou, and Jiaxing — with motor line automation reaching 95%, according to the company. It says SMT accuracy is held to ±25μm, measurement instruments resolve to 0.1μm, and an AI-driven visual inspection system detects defects as small as 20μm.
Global Customer Base and Market Position
InfiMotion says it now supplies e-drive systems spanning 400V to 900V for vehicle classes from A0 cars to supercars, with a network across China, Europe, and Malaysia. In the first half of 2026, the company says it ranked among China’s top three suppliers for both motor and inverter shipments, with volume production already serving Geely, Volvo, and JLR. The move to an independent, market-facing supplier model comes as competition among EDU makers intensifies globally, with companies like REE Automotive and Cascadia Motion also pursuing integrated EDU partnerships of their own.
