IONNA Hits 100 Live Sites at Second Anniversary

IONNA marks its second anniversary with 100 live sites, an automaker discount program led by GM, and nearly 1,000 active charging bays nationwide.

IONNA, the EV charging joint venture backed by eight major automakers, has reached 100 operational locations across the United States. The milestone coincides with the network’s second anniversary and the launch of its first automaker-specific discount program with General Motors.

Highlights

  • IONNA has surpassed 100 live Rechargery locations, with nearly 1,000 charging bays active nationwide and over 4,700 contracted.
  • The network launched its first automaker discount program with GM, with similar programs rolling out across all eight founding OEMs.
  • Approximately 1,500 bays are currently in construction or beyond, with new full-scale sites recently opened in Georgia and Colorado.
  • All new locations in 2026 will offer a $0.20/kWh introductory rate for the first week of operation.

Network Growth and Utility Partnerships

IONNA credited utility partners with helping accelerate its buildout. Ten utilities energized multiple locations within a single year, while 33 additional providers brought individual Rechargeries online in their service areas.

In early 2026, the network added 212 bays with support from more than 10 utilities. PG&E, PSE&G, and NV Energy were among those contributing to the expansion. Organizations such as EPRI and EEI also played supporting roles.

Automaker Discount Programs

The joint venture introduced tiered charging benefits tied to its eight founding automakers: BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota. Each OEM’s program will launch independently.

Benefits include base discounts with no subscription required, complimentary new-vehicle charging credits, OEM subscription options, loyalty rewards, and pre-paid discounted cards. The programs are structured to layer, allowing drivers to choose additional tiers based on their needs.

New Locations and Retail Integration

Three new full-scale Rechargeries recently opened in Forest Park and West Point, Georgia, as well as Limon, Colorado. Meanwhile, a new location in Dallas, Texas, is under construction and expected to launch in Q2 2026. It will feature IONNA’s second automated grab-and-go convenience store using Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology.

Anniversary Event and Introductory Pricing

IONNA held anniversary events at more than 25 locations on February 7, where drivers collectively dispensed over 100 MWh across the network. To build on that momentum, all new IONNA locations opening in 2026 will offer a $0.20/kWh introductory rate during their first week of operation.

The network’s long-term target remains 30,000 ultra-fast charging points by 2030.
