The Jeep Wrangler 4xe stands out as the only PHEV in its class. It offers legendary off-road capability, signature styling, and open-air freedom, enhanced by innovative powertrain technology. The vehicle features a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine paired with two electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack. This combination delivers an impressive 49 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) and 21 miles of pure electric operation, making it suitable for daily commutes and off-road adventures.
Production of the Wrangler 4xe started in December 2020 at the Toledo Assembly Complex. This facility, which has built Wranglers for over 80 years, assembles all Jeep Wrangler models for global markets alongside internal combustion versions. The vehicles are then exported worldwide.
The Jeep brand also marked another milestone with the 100,000th Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, assembled at the Detroit Assembly Complex in late 2024. Launched in August 2022, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is currently the third best-selling PHEV in the U.S. These milestones reflect Stellantis’ multi-energy strategy, offering customers diverse powertrain options.

Jeep is recognized as America’s Most Patriotic Brand, a title it has held since 2001 according to the Brand Keys Most Patriotic Brands survey.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the production of the 250,000th Wrangler 4xe,” said Bob Broderdort, CEO of the Jeep brand. “This milestone is a testament to the passion of our valued customers and the dedication and hard work of our talented employees at Toledo Assembly.”
The 250,000th vehicle, a 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Willys in Black Clear Coat, is headed to a customer in California.
“Toledo employees take great pride in being part of the history of this iconic vehicle,” said Trezelle Jenkins, plant manager of the Toledo Assembly Complex. “We are proud to be a part of its continued evolution.”
