Kempower, a leader in DC fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles, made a significant impact at the National ACT Expo in Las Vegas with the unveiling of its groundbreaking Megawatt Charging System (MCS). This state-of-the-art technology is poised to set new standards in the clean transportation industry, reflecting Kempower’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

Key Highlights:

  • Introduction of the Megawatt Charging System: Designed for power ratings above 1 MW, this system is set to revolutionize the electric truck market.
  • Presence at the ACT Expo: The annual event in Las Vegas served as the ideal platform for Kempower to showcase its innovative technologies.
  • Leadership Insights: CEO Tomi Ristimäki emphasized the importance of rapid and reliable charging solutions for heavy-duty trucks and the company’s strategic position in the EV charging space.

At the ACT Expo, Kempower’s booth was a hub of excitement as attendees gathered to witness the future of clean mobility. The Megawatt Charging System (MCS) is a dedicated solution for electric truck charging, addressing the need for power levels above 1 MW.

Key Features of Kempower MCS:

  • High Charging Capacity: Charging at +1,500 A and up to 1.2 MW of peak power.
  • Kempower Mega Satellite: Equipped with MCS and high-power CCS.
  • Transition to MCS: Current CCS2 power levels need to be increased for full MCS adoption.
  • Dual Strategy: Coexistence of MCS and high-power CCS to drive the transition to zero-emission road transport.
  • Flexibility: Dynamic distribution of unused power from MCS to multiple high-power CCS2 outputs.

Configuration Options:

  • Kempower Mega Satellite with MCS: For megawatt charging of electric trucks.
  • Kempower Mega Satellite with high-power CCS1: For high-power CCS charging of electric trucks.
  • Kempower Power Unit: Provides up to 1.2 MW of total charging power.

Key Benefits:

  • Proven Technology: The first version of the Kempower MCS offers a peak power of 1.2 MW.
  • Maximum Flexibility: Dynamic power sharing between all outputs within the same system.
  • Upgradability: Existing systems can be upgraded to MCS by combining two 600 kW Kempower Power Units.

Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower, stated, “With MCS and our upcoming pipeline of solutions, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in clean mobility. The possibilities are limitless, and we’re excited to continue leading the charge towards a cleaner, greener future.”

Jed Routh, VP of Markets and Products, North America Kempower, added, “This year’s ACT event provided us with an incredible opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders, forge partnerships, and showcase our leadership in sustainable energy innovation. We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow visionaries and drive meaningful change together.”

As the ACT Expo concludes, Kempower’s electrifying presence leaves a lasting impression on the industry. With its innovative MCS and forthcoming solutions, Kempower is leading the charge towards a more sustainable future.
