LEPAS, Chery Auto’s new energy vehicle brand, has released technical specifications for its intelligent LEX Platform, including a 12-in-1 integrated electric drive unit the company says achieves 90.8% system efficiency in battery-electric models. The platform supports both BEV and PHEV powertrains across multiple vehicle sizes, and LEPAS frames it as the foundation of what it calls its “Elegant Technology” system spanning EV hardware, driver assistance, and electrical architecture. According to the company, BEV battery cells carry an energy density of 186 Wh/kg and charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.

Electrical Architecture Built Around a Domain Controller
The LEX Platform uses a next-generation electronic and electrical architecture built around an integrated domain controller and gigabit automotive Ethernet. The company says the arrangement enables faster detection of driver inputs and more precise vehicle control, producing linear power delivery, consistent steering response, and controlled body motion under braking.
Platform scalability is a stated design goal. LEX accommodates battery-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains as well as vehicles of different sizes, which LEPAS positions as a response to varying regional requirements. The company also says the platform is calibrated against a range of global driving conditions and then tuned for individual markets to balance power, range, and handling.
What Battery and Charging Figures Has LEPAS Disclosed?
BEV models use the 12-in-1 electric drive unit, which the company reports operates at 90.8% system efficiency. The battery pairs a cell energy density of 186 Wh/kg with a 20-minute charge window from 30% to 80% state of charge, and LEPAS states it functions across a temperature range of -13°F to 131°F (-25°C to 55°C).
PHEV models run the LEPAS Super Hybrid system, which the company describes as combining smooth power delivery with extended range. LEPAS did not release comparable efficiency, range, or battery figures for the hybrid powertrain.
Level 2 Assistance and Valet Parking on the Roadmap
The platform currently supports Level 2 intelligent driving assistance systems, with Highway NOA scheduled to roll out within the year. LEPAS models fitted with the Super Intelligent Valet Parking system will arrive first in select markets, and the company says the system handles ultra-narrow parking spaces, automated navigation inside parking structures, and rapid parking maneuvers.
Full-domain over-the-air updating covers the vehicle lifecycle, allowing feature additions after delivery. The company has not named the markets receiving SIVP first or set a date for the Highway NOA release beyond the current calendar year.
Safety Engineering and Battery Protection
LEPAS says the LEX Platform is developed in line with the 2026 Euro NCAP safety standards. On the active side, the company reports its ADAS active safety system has been validated across more than 1,200 scenarios covering lane changes, crossing traffic, and low-visibility conditions, while the driver monitoring system has been upgraded to a 25-point standard.
Passive and structural measures include a four-layer redundant unlocking design intended to preserve door access after severe impacts. The power battery carries both IP68 and IPX9K protection ratings, and the company says thermal runaway protection has been strengthened for tropical, high-temperature, and humid operating environments.
