Loop Global Launches Offline EV Charging Technology

Loop Global's Infinity Link technology enables EV charging sessions without network connectivity, allowing drivers to initiate charging via mobile app even when chargers or phones are offline.

Loop Global has introduced Infinity Link, a technology designed to enable electric vehicle charging sessions in environments with limited or no network connectivity. The system allows drivers to initiate charging using the Loop mobile app even when neither the charger nor the driver’s smartphone has an active network connection.

Highlights

  • Infinity Link enables EV charging without network connectivity, addressing a persistent infrastructure challenge in underground garages, remote locations, and areas with unreliable cellular coverage.
  • The technology requires no retrofit for most existing Loop chargers already deployed on the company’s network.
  • Site hosts retain remote monitoring capabilities through Loop’s customer portal, maintaining visibility into charger status even during offline operation.
  • Encrypted communication and fraud detection provide security for offline transactions.

The system automatically grants authorization for approved users without requiring special setup. Chargers activate instantly upon request, and users receive real-time charging receipts even when stations operate offline.

For property managers and site operators, Loop’s customer portal provides live monitoring of offline chargers. This allows personnel to identify and address persistent connectivity issues while maintaining uninterrupted driver access.

Early Deployment Results

MAC Partners, a Los Angeles-based real estate development group, has deployed Infinity Link at a Los Angeles property.

“We’ve deployed Infinity Link technology at our Los Angeles building and found it to be particularly effective in environments where subterranean parking creates connectivity challenges,” said Brian Nathan, Director at MAC Partners. “The system helps ensure reliable access to EV charging even when cellular signal is limited.”

Nathan noted the technology provides site hosts with visibility into charger status and performance, which he described as important for building infrastructure resilience as EV adoption increases.

Technical Capabilities

Infinity Link includes the following features:

  • Offline session initiation via the Loop mobile app
  • Instant charger activation and real-time receipt generation
  • Remote monitoring through Loop’s customer portal
  • Encrypted communication with fraud detection protocols
  • Compatibility with most existing Loop network chargers

Loop Global provides turnkey EV charging solutions including hardware, software, and services. The company’s customer base includes AvalonBay Communities, Reem Mall, and AMLI Residential. Additional information is available at www.loopglobal.com.
