Constructed in 1884 under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kotor Serpentine Road was originally a trading path linking Kotor to Cetinje. Today, it’s an FIA-approved hillclimb course and a magnet for driving enthusiasts, winding through the serene Lovćen National Park with stunning views of the Bay of Kotor. This historic route offered the perfect stage for Porsche to demonstrate the Macan Electric’s capabilities.
Venceslas Monzini, Head of PR at Porsche Central and Eastern Europe, noted, “The Macan Turbo’s exceptional handling stems from its Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system, electronically controlled differential lock, and all-wheel drive, ensuring stability and precision. Optional rear-axle steering boosts responsiveness, ideal for this road’s dynamic layout.” The electric powertrain’s instant torque delivered smooth, confident performance across the serpentine’s sharp turns and steep inclines.
Journalists drove both combustion-engine and electric Macan variants, and the electric model stood out, matching its petrol-powered siblings on this grueling course. Monzini added, “The Kotor Serpentine Road tested the Macan’s precision and control. Its range easily covered the distance, with charging infrastructure keeping energy levels optimal. The electric Macan excelled effortlessly.” This event underscored Porsche’s success in blending electrification with thrilling drivability, reinforcing its innovation in sustainable mobility.
