MG has introduced its latest electric SUV, the MGS5 EV, slated for release in the UK next month and European markets in Quarter 2. This new model aims to elevate standards in the electric SUV category with its blend of cutting-edge technology, roomy interiors, and strong performance. The MGS5 EV comes in three variants: the SE Standard Range at £28,495, the SE Long Range at £30,995, and the premium Trophy Long Range at £33,495. Each version is supported by a robust 7-year/80,000-mile warranty, reflecting MG’s focus on reliability and customer value.

- Advanced Technology: A 12.8” HD touchscreen with sharp graphics and physical buttons for key controls, paired with a 10.25” HD digital driver’s display.
- Spacious Interiors: Comfortably seats four adults with 1026mm front headroom and 967mm rear headroom, plus a 453-liter boot expandable to 1441 liters.

The MGS5 EV is constructed on MG’s Modular Scalable Platform, tailored for electric vehicles to optimize range and handling with a lightweight chassis. It features rear-wheel drive, a balanced 47:53 weight distribution, and a Five-Link rear suspension for a smooth ride. Inside, the cabin impresses with soft-touch materials and a suede-style wireless charger. The Trophy variant adds luxury with dual-tone leather-style seats, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Technology shines with the iSMART system, allowing remote vehicle control via smartphone, including locking, climate pre-start, and range monitoring. The 12.8” touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with built-in apps like Spotify and YouTube. Safety is enhanced by MG Pilot’s suite of driver assistance features, including active emergency braking and blind spot detection, customizable via MG Pilot Custom.
Design-wise, the MGS5 EV draws from the Cyberster GT, sporting a bold split grille, LED Daytime Running Lamps, and silver side cladding. It offers six color choices, including Dynamic Red and Piccadilly Blue. Performance is powered by two battery options: a 49kWh for the SE Standard Range and a 64kWh for the Long Range models, providing up to 298 miles of range on the SE Long Range. Rapid charging takes just 24-28 minutes from 10% to 80%.
