Nexen Tire announced its N’Fera Sport premium performance tire has been selected as original equipment for the new BMW iX3. The fitment expands the South Korean tire maker’s growing OE relationship with BMW Group and reinforces its push into the premium segment.
Highlights
- BMW iX3 OE fitment: The N’Fera Sport has been chosen as factory rubber for the new BMW iX3 electric SUV.
- Performance-focused design: Wider longitudinal grooves and optimized block patterns target improved wet drainage and high-speed handling.
- Expanding OE portfolio: Nexen has supplied OE tires to global automakers since 2012 and now partners with brands including BMW Group.
- R&D investment: The company recently adopted a high dynamic driving simulator — a first in Korea’s tire industry — for virtual tire development.
N’Fera Sport Design and Performance
The N’Fera Sport targets dry, wet, and high-speed handling through several design elements. A wider longitudinal groove improves water evacuation in wet conditions. Meanwhile, the block pattern is engineered for stable grip during both dry and wet driving at speed.
The tire also uses an advanced tread compound to enhance braking and grip. Additionally, sidewall reinforcements deliver stability at higher speeds. As a result, the tire provides consistent handling and cornering confidence.
Growing OE Partnerships
Nexen Tire has steadily expanded its original equipment business since first supplying global manufacturers in 2012. The BMW iX3 fitment represents another milestone in the company’s premium OE strategy. Today, the company supplies tires to several leading automakers, including BMW Group.
This growth reflects ongoing investment in research and development. For instance, Nexen recently became the first Korean tire maker to deploy a high dynamic driving simulator. The technology enables next-generation virtual tire development and testing.
AI and Advanced Manufacturing
Beyond R&D, Nexen has also strengthened its manufacturing operations. The company implemented an AI-based automated inspection system to improve precision in quality control. Furthermore, it continues integrating AI and virtual reality technologies across product development and production.
Nexen CEO John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim said the company will continue delivering premium products worldwide by strengthening R&D efforts and deepening collaboration with global automakers.
