At Auto Shanghai 2025, Nissan unveiled two innovative vehicles: the all-new Frontier Pro plug-in hybrid pickup truck and the Dongfeng Nissan N7 electric sedan. These launches underscore Nissan’s dedication to electrification and its strategy to introduce nine New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China by summer 2027, enhancing its market presence with advanced, technology-rich models.

Nissan Debuts Electrified Pickup and Sedan

The Frontier Pro marks Nissan’s entry into the electrified pickup segment. Tailored for families, this five-seat vehicle blends urban efficiency with off-road prowess. It measures 5520 mm long and 1960 mm wide, featuring a cargo bed of 1520 mm by 1600 mm by 490 mm. Its ‘Rugged Tech’ design includes a modern exterior with an illuminated Nissan logo and LED lights inspired by the 1980s D21 hardbody pickup.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor, producing over 300 kW of power and an EV-only range of 135 km in China. With Intelligent All-wheel Drive and four drive modes, it adapts to diverse conditions. The interior offers a panoramic roof, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, and amenities like seat massage and a Vehicle-to-load port.

The Dongfeng Nissan N7, a stylish electric sedan, boasts a drag coefficient of 0.208. Its V-Motion design features frameless doors and customizable LED lighting. Equipped with battery options up to 73 kWh, it offers a range of 635 km and fast charging from 10% to 80% in 19 minutes. The N7 includes ‘Navigate on Autopilot’ for advanced driver assistance and a premium interior with ‘zero-pressure’ seating, a 15.6-inch screen, and a refrigerated compartment.

Produced in China, the Frontier Pro launches later this year, while the N7 is available this month. Both will expand Nissan’s global electric vehicle footprint.
