Innovative Design Features
HaloDrive stands out with its four-part modular architecture, including an injection-molded plastic stator and a tunable gearset. These elements contribute to its slim profile, lighter weight, and lower production costs compared to traditional electric motors like Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM). The motor maintains high torque and power density while ensuring greater thermal stability, making it a reliable choice for demanding environments.
In practical applications, HaloDrive has been tested in in-wheel propulsion systems for passenger vehicles and as diesel-replacement generators in heavy-duty trucking fleets. One notable pilot project resulted in a 61% improvement in fleet fuel efficiency. When used in electric transport refrigeration units (eTRU) for commercial trucks, it eliminates diesel fuel consumption entirely, capturing braking energy to power refrigeration without grid dependency.

HaloDrive avoids reliance on rare earth materials, ensuring stable pricing and availability. Its compact design supports multiple drivetrain positions (P2, P3, P4, P5), allowing seamless integration without major modifications. This versatility enables rapid scaling across form factors, from stationary generators to mobile platforms.
Market Relevance and Availability
Transportation remains the largest source of CO2 emissions in the U.S., accounting for 39% domestically and 12% worldwide, per EPA data. Inefficient electric motors consume one-third of global electricity, exacerbating emissions.
