Pilot, General Motors, and EVgo have partnered to launch a network of over 130 electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging locations across more than 25 states, enhancing the infrastructure for long-distance EV travel. This collaboration targets popular corridors and major interstates, making it easier for drivers to travel during the spring and summer seasons. With a goal to install up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls at as many as 500 Pilot and Flying J locations, this initiative aims to meet the growing demand for convenient and efficient EV charging options nationwide.
Key Highlights:
- Premium Amenities: Locations feature lounges, free Wi-Fi, on-site restaurants, grab-and-go food, and grocery items, offering a superior experience compared to typical charging stations.
- Convenient Design: Many sites include overhead canopies and pull-through stalls, simplifying access for drivers, especially those towing trailers.
- Rapid Charging: EVgo’s high-power chargers, delivering up to 350 kW, can recharge vehicles in as little as 15 minutes, depending on the EV model.
- Strategic Coverage: The network spans major routes like I-75 from Michigan to Georgia, Minneapolis to Milwaukee, Detroit to Cleveland, San Antonio to Houston, and Dallas to Nashville.

This development aligns with a significant rise in EV adoption, with 1.3 million EV sales recorded in 2024, reflecting a 15% growth in the fourth quarter compared to 2023. General Motors has played a key role, reporting a 50% increase in its brand EV sales during the same period. The partnership supports this trend by expanding charging infrastructure, boosting driver confidence for long-distance trips.
The EV community has praised the network for its fast-charging capabilities and added conveniences at Pilot and Flying J sites. As the collaboration progresses, more charging stations will be added along key highways, further supporting the shift to electric vehicles.
