The Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor with Performance Pack has claimed victory in the world’s largest independent winter range test, organized by the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) and Motor magazine. Traveling 531 km in demanding Norwegian winter conditions, the Polestar 3 achieved just a 5% deviation from its official WLTP range of 561 km, outperforming 23 competitors from various segments.
Key Highlights
- Exceptional performance: The Polestar 3 achieved the second-best result in the history of this renowned test, with the closest match to its WLTP rating.
- Tough competition: It beat 23 competitors, with the next-best vehicle falling short of its official rating by 9%.
- Polestar innovation: The newly introduced Long Range Single Motor variant boasts a remarkable WLTP range of 706 km, setting new standards for electric SUVs.
- Challenging conditions: The test included a 1,000-meter ascent on wet and slippery roads, pushing the vehicles to their limits.
Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “We are proud that Polestar 3 wins another big test! Range is an important criterion for customers – and this result underlines that Polestar 3 is a great choice for everybody seeking a luxury experience in an outstanding SUV. We are developing our cars above the Arctic Circle in Sweden, so it’s no surprise for us that Polestar 3 performs better than the competition in challenging conditions.”
The Polestar 3 lineup offers both four-wheel-drive Long Range Dual Motor and rear-wheel-drive Long Range Single Motor configurations. The latest updates for the MY25 Long Range Dual Motor variant improve its range to 567 km, while the Long Range Single Motor, powered by a 111 kWh battery, achieves an impressive 706 km WLTP range.
