Polestar’s public charging service, Polestar Charge, has reached a significant milestone, offering 1 million charging points across Europe, making it one of the most extensive networks accessible through a single app. This achievement enhances the convenience and accessibility of electric vehicle (EV) charging for Polestar drivers, integrating both major international operators and local providers to create a seamless charging experience.
Key Highlights
- 1 million charging points available across Europe via the Polestar Charge app.
- 68,000 charging points accessible in the UK, with 6,500 chargers offering 30% savings for subscribers.
- Plug & Charge capability now available for Polestar 2 MY26 and Polestar 3, simplifying the charging process.
- Collaboration with major operators like IONITY, Tesla Super Chargers, and local UK providers enhances network coverage.

In the UK, Polestar Charge provides access to over 68,000 charging points, with subscribers enjoying 30% savings at 6,500 chargers operated by networks like IONITY, InstaVolt, and Fastned. This subscription model reduces costs and simplifies the charging process, making EV ownership more appealing. Matt Galvin, Polestar UK MD, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its network, stating, “We’re making it even more attractive to own and drive a Polestar.”
The introduction of Plug & Charge technology for Polestar 2 MY26 and Polestar 3 allows vehicles to communicate directly with compatible chargers, streamlining payment and authentication processes. For non-compatible stations, drivers can still use the Polestar Charge app or card. Integrated with Google Maps, the service optimizes route planning by suggesting charging stops, enhancing convenience for long-distance travel.
Since 2020, Polestar has partnered with Plugsurfing to provide charging access, with the subscription service launching in 2024 alongside Polestar 3 and 4 deliveries. Available in 15 European markets, including Austria, Germany, and the UK, Polestar Charge continues to grow, offering a robust solution for EV drivers.
